Overview
After my bachelor’s degree I committed to keep making things with my hands, and discovered the craft of manufacturing hairpins. The project combines the artistic side I have always had with everything my design studies taught me: handcrafted objects, held to the standard of an industrially produced one.
I pay meticulous attention to every detail of the design and manufacturing process, and to the parts around it — material and packaging included.
Photography and shop
To share the pieces properly I photograph them in a studio and at locations that show the pins in use rather than as objects on a table. Numerous unique designs exist by now, each distinctive but harmonised through one timeless style, and an online shop is in the making.
The pins offer a wide range in themselves and in how they can be styled in the hair — a broad canvas for creativity.
