Overview

Weedy is an advanced autonomous agricultural machine designed to promote ecologically sustainable plant growth. Gripping arms remove weeds without harmful chemicals, which protects the health of the people who eat the crop as much as the environment it grows in. Solar panels on the roof keep the machine largely energy self-sufficient.

How it works

GPS and sensors position the vehicle, while its vision system follows the crop rows and detects the presence and position of weeds in and between them. The grippers act on those signals simultaneously, moving vertically to a maximum height of 110 cm and horizontally for precision.

Sprockets with rubber tracks carry the weight across the field without damaging the soil, and the whole machine is monitored and controlled through an app.

Details

The chain wheel cover, the vehicle logo and the WEEDY brand mark were developed alongside the vehicle itself.
